The Church in Africa is growing! In 1970, there were approximately 97 million professing Christians in Africa. Now there are over 350 million Christians throughout the continent. This phenomenal growth poses a significant challenge for pastors. They deal with a multitude of issues, including the threat of AIDS, Islamic extremism, false teaching, animism and poverty. Most pastors find themselves ministering to multiple churches or church plants led by untrained volunteers.

Many African pastors labor daily without adequate resources, training or encouragement. As a result, they are not as effective as they could be. These leaders need opportunities for training, development and spiritual recharging to continue their ministry to God's people with passion and vitality.
Jesus knew the value of refreshment to those who labored in His vineyards. In Mark 6:31 He says, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."
We have a place in mind for these laborers to do just that - read on about the planned retreat center!
